Truck was dropped off on a Monday and we were told they had to wait for the "transmission specialist" to be in that week and run the diagnostic. I'm still curious why it takes a specialist to run diagnostics. We heard nothing until we stopped by Friday morning. There was zero communication unless we initiated it. In the future I would like to know what is going on and an ETA on completion. It was there 10 days and I received one phone call AFTER my husband had just left there with an update. It was very odd.

Friendly staff, serviced my truck ,called to let me know my battery was getting weak. Paid my bill and then when I got home I was looking at it. There was a charge on it for $22 dollars for part# what ever - tuneup. Never had that on there before and don't know what it is . My guess was an additive to clean something and make it run cleaner. No explanation . Other than that everything went good just like always.

I had my Traverse towed in because it wouldn't start due to the battery. I had to drop it off for about 5+ hours, but then it was ready. Apparently the battery is the only item not covered under the warranty. Quite expensive!!

Normally it is fine, turned my car in at 0830 in the morning, was called at like 2:30 asking to change 2 filters. Heard nothing else from them, my husband dropped me off there about 3:45. Let the ladies where you pay know that I was there. Finally after about 45 minutes I went up to ask how much longer, my car had been ready and no one called or let know.

I contacted Chevrolet Customer Complaint service on the service I received last week,: below is my response to them: I am not sure how to go about this so I have attached the supporting documents for the complaint with the service I had with my local Merle Stone Chevrolet Dealer on 07-18-2025, last Friday. I received a coupon by email for the lube, oil & tire rotation for the cost of $108.95. I called Merle Stone & was told they don't make appointments anymore to just bring the car in and drop it off & they will call once it is done. I went into the Service Department & spoke with Omar Mercado & gave him my coupon and let him know this is the service I want done today. I told him I also would like to use my point for the service & he stated the girls at the front would help me with this when I come to pay the bill & get my vehicle. He started letting me know with the 45k miles on my car it is recommended for transmission fluid change and other services & it would cost over $1,000.00. I told him I am only here for the service on the coupon I gave him, that I would think about the other recommended services later. He then gave me an Estimate paper to sign which I again told him I am only here to have the service I requested with my coupon. To my surprise when I went to pay my bill it was a total of $246.85, not the $108.95 coupon service I requested. There were filters changed that were not on my coupon & I did not get a call to ask or authorize that service. I had the girls at the desk get Omar Mercado who I spoke with to explain this. He stated I gave you the Estimate paper & you signed it & I told him I told you more than once I am only here for the coupon service nothing else. I told him I bring my car here for service because I have purchased my last 2 vehicles from you guys therefore I feel I should get my vehicle serviced here & keep my business local, we are a small town., He then got a little snippy with me & told me "How about this I will give you a free oil change next time." I told him I don't want anything FREE, I want to pay for the service I requested when I dropped my car off . He would not honor the coupon price & I was at the dealership for half & hour or longer discussing this, even though I had to get back to work. I am not sure what can be done, I had NO luck with Merle Stone(Omar) in getting this resolved. I hope there is a way to get the charges that I did not authorize refunded and pay what my coupon states plus my points. It is common sense that if I bring in a coupon & ask for that service that I should not get a bill for twice that much without authorizing them to do it. My phone number is(Not listing on here) I would appreciate a call/response back to resolve this issue. Once again we are a small town & I sure hope this is not how Merle Stone Chevrolet Service Department is going to do business now, by having you sign an ESTIMATE form & then take it upon themselves to say well you signed it so it is what it is. I would not have brought in a coupon sent to me by Chevrolet for a discounted service to have them turn around & give me a bill for double that. I am 100% dissatisfied with being charged double what I brought my car in to have done. I have never filed a complaint & I am not happy about having to do one now but I feel someone should know about how a loyal customer was treated with no resolution other than me being out money I shouldn't be, I hope I get a response to get this resolved.

The issue was not resolved and my car had been there for 3 weeks. I appreciate the loaner car and efforts made - but it is very frustrating to not have the issue you brought the car in for to be resolved and for the check engine light to still be on after paying 3800.00 for other items found. Additionally, my car had dirty foot prints inside of it. I take very good care of my car and that is not something I find acceptable.

I took my car to the dealership on Tuesday morning around 10 am, because during a recent rainstorm a leak developed inside the car in the upper right-side upholstery on the passenger side. When we got there, the person checking in the car asked what the problem was and we show him the wet area in the upholstery of the car. He then opened the sunroof and looked inside the sunroof area and said that it was dry. He was a bit puzzled as to why the area in the sunroof was dry and the inside upholstery was wet. He said that possibly a drain tube was clogged. We left the car for three days and no progress report was given to us. On Thursday, the third day about 5:00 pm, we called the dealership to find out the status of our car. We were told that the car was ready to be picked up and that they could not find out what the problem was with our car, and they could not figure out why it had leaked. They told us to keep on eye on it and if it occurred again, bring it back. No charge!

Merle Stone in Porterville is the only place that I have looked into, where you can bring in your vehicle for an oil change without having an appointment, Amazing! I understand that business can stack up quickly without requiring an appointment so some time frames can be forgiven. With that being said, A seven hour oil change is a bit excessive. Whether it be the lack of personnel, or the amount of customers requesting an oil change, issues like this need to be addressed to prevent a low rating on the business. I plan to request a list of certified products that will not void the warranty on the truck so I can change the oil myself or have a qualified specialized company that can do so and help the company to eliminate time frame issues for future customers. Additionally, a car wash is much appreciated in terms of maintaining a prestine appearance but only if the process is fully completed, otherwise water spots will begin to burn the clear coat. There are specialized companies that solely wash vehicles and I occasionally swing by for a wash. A car wash is much appreciated but not needed. More over, I understand that repairs are needed to maintain a proper working vehicle so I appreciate the qualified, skilled mechanics who are able to service the vehicles without the worry of voiding the warranties assigned to such vehicles. I thoroughly enjoy the experiences that come with the purchase of a new vehicle and hope that the customer experience can both help the company provide better customer service and drive the customer to a long lasting relationship with the company, and future purchases

They said they couldn't get to it on our appt day. The second day they said our battery was weak. Changed it . We picked car up . Very next start of engine , engine light came back on .not a battery issue as they said .my chevy app says engine trans. In that it says fuel trouble. Light has gone out after 1 day but back on again. Also told us our back up camera was defective.they had the arboretum for 2 days and stated all was good so they would need it for the week to flash the software. So they ordered a ba k camera , waiting for that to come in .to take car back. But when you make an appt . You shouldn't keep it for 2 days because you didn't have time to getto it on your appt day. Car is only 2 yrs old .camera works sporadically as it hooses. Very unhappy of the abilities of the mechanic staff.

On December 27th, I dropped off my truck at approximately 10:00 a.m. The service advisor who assisted me informed me that the issue with my truck was “not covered under warranty” and had me sign a document stating that I could be charged up to $200 for diagnostics. I find it concerning that this conclusion was made before the vehicle was properly inspected. Throughout the diagnosis and repair process, which took more than a week, I was not clearly informed about what the actual issue was—only that parts were needed. I did not receive a clear explanation of the problem or the specific repairs being performed. When I picked up my truck, there was no one available to go over the repairs with me or explain what had been done. Additionally, during this time I had to borrow a vehicle. My truck is used to transport my father and his wheelchair, which I was unable to do for over a week due to this situation. I also want to note that everyone was extremely helpful and welcoming when the truck was sold to us; however, the experience was very different when I needed assistance with a service issue. This has been disappointing, and I expected better communication and support during the repair process.
