The Silverado 1500 LTD has a powertrain for every need. The base 2.7-liter turbo V-6 gets 310 horsepower. Bump up to the 5.3-liter V-8 for 355 horsepower or the 6.2-liter V-8. This engine delivers 420 horsepower. The available 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel generates 277 horsepower. The base powertrain for the Ram 1500 is a 3.6-liter V-6 with 305 horsepower. You can also get a 5.7-liter V-8 with 395 horsepower or a 3.0-liter turbodiesel with 260 horsepower.
The Versatility
Nothing beats the Chevy Silverado's Multi-Flex Tailgate. This functional and versatile gate offers six different functions. It makes loading and unloading easier, has a load stop to keep long items from sliding out, an inner gate for easy access, a bed step, and a work surface. The Ram does not offer a tailgate with any of these functions.
The Trailering Technology
The Advanced Trailering System you get with the 2022 Silverado 1500 LTD offers up to 15 different camera views and an in-vehicle app that provides customized trailer profiles to ensure towing is safe and convenient. Ram offers backup cameras and cargo cameras, but it doesn't have the extensive system available with the Silverado.
The 2022 Silverado 1500 LTD clearly comes out on top when compared to the Ram 1500.
